Hi All, I'm Becky.  I live in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  I love to go to thrift shops and yard sales.  Some of my best stuff has been bought 2nd hand (maybe 3rd, 4th, or 5th hand, who knows?)  I mostly look for clothes, shoes and purses but I occasionally buy other stuff like books and jewelry.  I love costume jewelry.  I found a small pair of red and White striped button type pierced earrings at Goodwill the other dayand I have loads of stuff I can wear them with.  I love red!
Regards,
Becky

Hi Becky,

Welcome. I'm Becky and love red too! My sister-in-law lives in Savannah. Am I right in thinking that it's the same neck of the woods? Maybe you can point out the good places forus next time we go and visit.

Hello Becky!  I live a little ways from you in Huntsville, Alabama.  I agree - almost all the furniture I have (except two inherited pieces) have been bought second-hand and have lasted forever.  I try to look for names like Broyhill that I know will hold up.  If you have any good flea markets that you know about between Chatt. and Hunts., please let me know.  Good luck and have fun thrifting!!

I'm a geography dummy sorry Embarrassed
I should know better than to ask things like that. It's like when I had my very very very common maiden name and people always asked " Are you related to so and so?" Ummmm noooooo.
Anyway, nice to meet you!

Thanks for all the welcomes.  I usually get up early on Saturday morning and go with my neighbor/friend Pat.  She usually has the yard sales marked and we go around to them and them we sometimes go to the Thrift stores.  We went to yard sale last Sat and this woman had all kinds of practically new designer clothes for $1 apiece.  I just wanted to cry.  They were all size 0 to 6.  I am lucky if I can get in a 14. Becky -  Welcome to the list and fear not.  I can't get into a size 14 either.  I was a size 14 when I was in 4th grade.

Fall is upon us so now it's time to start thrifting those holiday decorations from years past.

Hi Becky!  I live on the other side of the state(Memphis) but I was in Chattanooga last May for the 3 state 3 mountain bicycle ride.  I did manage to thrift before it started but didn't find much;(
