Hi everyone. This is my first post, so I thought this would be a good place to start. I've always considered myself thrifty. I hate paying full price for anything! I check out the local thrift stores once in a while, not searching for much in particular, but just looking. Mostly, I save big bucks by going to garage sales. I mainly shop for clothes/toys for my daughter who is soon turning one. I've saved so much money this way! I think most everything she owns came from a garage sale (and I'm proud of it)! Other than that, my husband and I do collect video games, and it's always fun to come across a good Nintendo game at Goodwill. Though that doesn't happen too much anymore. Not to mention, we have most of the good games already. Also, I find Goodwill kind of pricey on a lot of things. I'd shop more for clothes, but with an infant, my time is limited. Yet here I am.

ps. i couldn't get the Member Map or Classifieds to work. I click on them, but they just stay on the forums page. Maybe it's my browser??

Welcome!
I just updated the forum to the latest version of the software. Those 2 items are the last to be added to the newest version of the program.

I'm literally chatting with one of my programmers about those 2 modifications as I type.
The member map should be working soon and the classifieds should be up and running by the end of the weekend, if I can coordinate things correctly..

Hi Emily aka thriftymama.  Welcome to the forum.  It's always nice to get new members.  It doesn't matter what or where we all shop.  We all just love those bargains that we get from buying used instead of new.  You'll have to post some pictures of your daughter in some of your favorite finds.

Hi thriftymama!  Welcome to our little piece of thrifters' heaven!  We are a diverse group with ecectic tastes and a common goal--never pay retail if we can get it secondhand!  Thrifters' rule...retail drools Smiley

Hi, and welcome! Nice to have you aboard!

Seems to me I knew a "Thriftymama" on a cottage decorating forum. Or else I'm having a bit o' Friday deja vu. Grin

Hello and welcome to our site!  We're glad you found us.  I agree that Goodwill can be kind of pricey, but sometimes I'll find something marked for $1.50 that I would expect them to have marked $5.99, so they do surprise me once in a while.  Even if I end up paying $5.99 for a skirt, if it's a good brand in nice shape and well made, that's still a great bargain to me.

Hi and welcome!  It is amazing what great clothes and toys a person can find in the thrifts.  I have 2 boys and have found lots of neat things for them.
