I know this place is for you lot in the States and Canada but I've had so much fun reading the forum that I wanted to join in! I'm going on my first proper thrifting trip on Saturday (I've been shopping in thrift stores for years but I'm ready to turn hardcore.)

I run the blog www.feelingstylish.co.uk and in my research for posts, images etc I came across people that shop in thrift stores as a living (to sell stuff on via ebay) and those who find the most amazing fashions. I believe I would be the latter.

Anyways, hi all. Call me Jet, I'm a 20 year old blogger/writer/marketing manager/music guru from Norfolk, UK!

Jet

I think anyone who likes thrift shopping is always interested in other people's finds, no matter what country!  I know some stuff that is considered "antique" in the U.S. is not antique by European standards so I would imagine the European charity shops get some neat old stuff.  In the U.S. thrifts tend to get picked over pretty quickly as many people are into Ebay, etc.  Is this the case in the UK also?  Look forward to hearing about your fashion finds as trends are probably a little different between the U.S. & UK

I'd say things are quite different over here in the UK but I would love to arrange a meet for you to all come over and we go thrifting! It would be amazing.

I'm from Norwich, Norfolk and the city probably has about ten charity shops, a flea market, loads of antiques shops and two vintage clothes stores. I'm sure I'll find more now I'm getting into this as a bit of a hobby.

I intend to fully document the stores I go into, what they contain, my experiences within them and what I buy. I run a blog and am a photographer so it seems the best course of action!

But you are all welcome to travel thousands of miles to my neck of the woods for a cup of tea and some thrifting!

Hi Jet...welcome from North Carolina....things have changed in Europe over the years..when I grew up in Germany there were no charity shoppes, only a trash day once a month...ppl put everything at the curb...furniture..clothes etc...everybody picked thru it but nobody talked about it..lol..now my cousin in Germany LOVES to shop at the many thrifts in the town I grew up in! HMPFT!
Cant wait to hear about your shopping adventures!

Hi!

Well, I'm going thrifting on Saturday and intend to document it all on my blog (link in sig) I've been researching how to spot vintage clothes, find good quaility ones and recognise good jewellery.
It's so exciting.

I'm now getting ready to go out to a job interview and even as a bit of a fashionista I cannot find the right outfit! So I must bid you all farwell for now.
