Today I took a jewelry making class.  The teacher was about 20, and cute as a bug.  She was talking about how she had been making jewelry for such a long time ( A long time?  Kid, I got clothes older than you.)  Anyway she was talking about the latest in jewelry trends.  Seems as if, in line with all the other green trends, it is now the fashion to, are you ready for this?  Recycle old thrift shop jewelry into new items.
Well, duh.  Most of the other students in the class, ladies my age or older, had a hard time not laughing.  I think if you make jewelry you do that.  I mean the beads and the findings don't really go bad or get moth holes.  I've bought brken jewelry for years to scavenge for parts or because the beads are pretty enough to turn into something else.
So I thought I would let all you thrifters out there who, like me,  recycle old jewelry into new jewelry or other things, you are now officially trendy and enviromentally friendly.  And all this time I really as doing it cause I hate mass produced items and oh yeah, cause I'm a tightwad.

Jeannie, you always make me laugh Grin Grin  What we saucy older gals (women of a "certain" age) have been doing for years, the wee ones are just learning about.  It's thrilling to know so many gen x'ers and ys and beyond are carrying the torch!
