Hello.  I'm Sarah and I live in Mesa, AZ.  I've been here a few times before, but never registered.  I'm currently obsessed with thrift stores.   Well, I've been obsessed with them for years, but I'm extra obsessed right now because I recently emerged from a months-long thrifting dry spell.  After weeks and weeks and weeks of finding little or nothing, I went out last Thursday and scored at half a dozen stores.  Yay for me!

I buy lots of fabric (I'm a quilter), craft books, and other artsy stuff.  If I tied all my vintage rickrack one end to another, it would probably stretch from my house in Mesa all the way to Albuquerque.  I also love old linens, post-WWII ceramic giftware, and paint-by-numbers, though I certainly don't limit myself to just that.

I'm glad to be here.

Hi Sarah!! I'm Dianne and i'm from Kissimmee,FL.I love thrift shopping.I love vintage purses and jewelry.I am currently on a Tupperware hunt.I loved my late grandmother's and late aunt's Tupperware collection.
My favorite find is a off white mesh Whiting-Davis coin purse. It is from the 1930's or 1940's.One of my biggest thrills is vintage pin up art from the 40's and 50's...the kind the soldiers used to paint their airplanes with Betty Grable and such.
Anyways it is always nice to have another thrifter here.Everyone is very friendly.
Nice to meet you.

HI Sarah!  My name is Jeannie and I am in Northern KY, near Cincinnati.  Like you, I am an accomplished thrifter, yard saler and dumpster diver.  I sew too, although I don't quilt.  I find lots of sewing stuff at thrifts.  I crochet too and my DD knits.  Today I found 2 large bags of overdyed cotton/rayon yarn in luscious colors for a total of $1.50.  Can't wait to see if DD grabs it first:)  She does that a lot.

Welcome Sarah and you're totally in the right place!  I've recently ended a long dry spell as well...my local thrifts had absolutely NOTHING interesting to me.  Things are looking up now though.  I'm glad you're here.  Happy Thrifting!

Welcome!  I've been obsessed with thrifts for several years now, I have three within close range so I can stop by daily.  I was without a car for a few days this week while I was having the starter replaced, so I didn't get out as much, but as soon as I picked up the car today I hit the thrifts.  Besides a cute pair of like new mary jane shoes for 3 dollars & a new jelly strainer for .99 (package of cloth bags & stand to hook them on), I found a vintage bermuda bag (.99) and a very sweet 1930's childrens book for .25 cents called "The Turned-Intos".  The illustrations are lovely, you can see them at this site

My book is a 1930's print with a plainer cover (probably had a dust jacket).  I know some people would never cut up a book, but I am thinking of using the pictures for craft stuff.  Here is a listing on Etsy for a necklace made with a picture from the book

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=10641889

I would have never thought of jewelry!  Anyway, I buy alot of vintage fabric & sewing related items, a small amount I keep, the rest I sell on Ebay, its one of my favorite catagories to sell.  Look forward to hearing about your linens collection!

I do that all the time!  I love old children's books and old cookbooks for their graphics.  A few months back, I got a children's cookbook from the 1950's which I bought strictly for the graphics.  You could definitely tell that the recipes were from a different era.  I think 90% contained MSG as the major seasoning!  Mmmmm...

Me, too.  I'm all over that stuff.  I usually scan the pictures in first so I can clean them up in Photoshop if need be.  That way I don't have to cut up the book in case I want to use the image again.  I print them out on semi-thick paper and use them for decoupage.

Welcome, Nancy!

Hi all and welcome, Sarah!  I'm Sally and I'm in Winter Springs, FL.

Hey Dianne do you check out rummage sales too?  There's TONS of Tupperware to be scored super cheap at rummages.  I went to 3 of them today and they were all having fill-a-bag deals, you could have scored big-time!!  Since you're close maybe we should go thrifting together sometime?

I just posted some pics to the gallery of a PBN I scored yesterday and a painting I scored today in case anyone wants to check them out!

I know if there are fellow Bruce Campbell fans here that I'm in the right place!  My only complaint about Burn Notice is that they don't let Bruce Campbell be Bruce Campbell-y enough, if you know what I mean.  Otherwise, it's a great show.

The long awaited (by me) "My Name is Bruce" is finally supposed to come out in October.

The world is better place for Bruce Campbell being in it.

Hello everyone!  I'm Robin from WA. state and I just happened upon this site this morning!  Gosh- it was meant to be for me- a thrift store website!  I'm totally addicted to thrift stores and garage sales.  My house has pretty much been furnished by my finds.  It's amazing what a little paint and sandpaper will do.  Goodwill is my favorite!   Well,  gotta go have a great day!:D
