Hi, I'm Trase, from the Detroit, MI area. I live just outside of the city limits (1/2 mile north of 8 Mile in East Detroit/Eastpointe for those familiar) and I love thrifting/junking/whatever you want to call it. I am an avid shopper at thrifts, charity shops, garage/yard sales, church rummage sales, estate sales, and flea markets.
My love for all of this started young, my grandmother and mother used to take me with them to garage sales and many of my clothes, books, and toys were procured there. My parents had me in high school so we were not financially well-off the first few years of my childhood, but I didn't know any better! I grew up next to a fantastic resale shop until I was eight years old and spent a great deal of time there buying baby clothes for my dolls, comic books, and scored a little red "fire engine" pedal car for free because the owner liked me so much. ^_^ I wish my family had kept it!
I surpressed my love for thrift for many years due to husbandly hatred of it, but after he decided that he wanted to be a man-whore LOL...well we divorced last year and I can indulge myself again, yay! And I've done just that. You can see some of my scores at my photo gallery here:
