Hi, I just found this forum and had to join.
I'm a work-at-home mom to 2 toddlers in Overland Park, KS. I have always enjoyed thrift stores, but it is becomming an addiction. I love shopping at thrift stores because it's good for the environment (I'm reusing stuff people don't want), good for social justice (the retired volunteers who run my favorite thrift store enjoy plenty of fringe benefits, such as good friends and the always-full coffee pot), and good for my wallet. My boys are well-dressed in thrift store clothes and I am trying to make a point of buying more of our household things from thrift stores. I'm fortunate that two very good thrift stores are about 2 miles from me.
My all-time favorite thrift store find was six months ago when I came accross a like-new double jogging stroller for 49 dollars. I swear, the moment I saw it outside my favorite store I felt like the heavens had opened up and angels were singing. But I also cherish my smaller finds, like the neat collection of cloth napkins we use every day and the Berenstein Bear's book I found for my son yesterday.
That's me. I'm happy to be here
