Hi there!  I'm 48 also - although sounds like you have more of a variety of thrift stores in Florida than I do here in the Missouri - Illinois area!   Lots of resale shops showing up but high end and expensive.....

Greetings oceangurl!

There are lots of us in Florida. A few of us went to Rennigers in Mt. Dora a couple of weeks ago and had lots of fun! We hope to go again in January (right, Good Buddy, Cookie, and LizardSally?)

Are you in South Florida?  I hear the thrifting's great there!

Ciao, Bella!

Oh yes, I can't WAIT to go to Renningers again.  Even if I can't find anyone to go with me, I will definitely be there in Jan.  I'm planning to go on Saturday.  SeSo, will you be there?  Goodbuddy, Cookie?  Anyone else in central Fl want to go?

Hey lizardsally!  How ya doin'?

I had so fun much at Rennigers...Peter and I are definitely good-to-go for the next trip if if works for our schedule.  What are the next dates?

Love your li'l leather guys. They remind me of "Naugas", little leather fellas from the 60s, part of the "Naugahyde" leather revolution in furniture coverings.  "The Nauga" was a tough but loveable character indeed!

Also, great felt ornaments. If I come across any groovy ones and great prices, I'll pick 'em up and send 'em your way. Are you looking for anything in particular besides vintage, felt, and handmade?

Ciao,

Would you believe, SeSo, I just was talking to one of my coworkers yesterday and he was telling me about Naugas???

I swear, everything in my life is interconnected in some way...  Grin

PS: TSR, I forgot to tell you:  It's a grey, damp day here, and I am listening to Loreena McKennitt's "To Drive the Cold Winter Away".  Getting into the season...

Welcome!

I've been to Florida a few times -- got some great purses at a couple of thrifts in Ocala.  That was sorta the begining of my purse obssession...

Thriftily,

Yes, Oceangurl, tell us whereabouts you are in Florida.  We're in Winter Park right next to College Park and Orlando.

hey everyone! Iam in Lady Lake, Florida, one hour from Renningers (been there many times) one town up from Leesburg, Florida, 45 minutes from Ocala. Has anyone ever heard of the Market of Marion fleamarket here, or the "Villages" a great big retirement village right down the street from where I live, they advertise nationally so you-all might have heard of them. Anyhow alot of great shops around here, thats exactley why I have found myself so overloaded at home here, been weeding out but (and no my house dosent look like that show that Oprah did on obsessiveness where you had to literally clear a path to get anywhere, that truely is very bad) I still do have some issues with magazines, clothes, purses , shoes, but in all fairness I regularley bag things up and redonate to the Animal thrift shop and Habitat for Humanity Thrift, but I just havent been able to recently, lol, thanx for all the welcomes! Thrift on...... Roll Eyes

Howdy, oceangurl!  I know what you mean about getting great deals and then being overwhelmed by STUFF...  It's good to get in the habit of donating back to the thrifts!  Everyone wins that way!
