Hi everyone. My name is Selene. I'm 16 years old and I live in Maryland. I am going on my first thrift store run tomorrow and I'm soooooooo pysched. This really means a lot to me because I'm a transgendered girl (I'm pre-op bleh :p) and I need somewhere where I can get clothes that express me for cheap. I used to shop at American Eagle, but I was like "Why am I doing this...? this is sooo outrageous", I mean seriously 40 dollars for a pair of jeans *slaps head*. That's expensive even for a NORMAL person. I hope to find some very nice things on my first adventure tomorrow, as well as meet some amazing people here!

You will be amazed at what you can buy with the $40 once used for one pair of jeans!   Have fun and good luck!  Just remember, not every visit is a winner.  Also, you have to "dig".  Cheesy

That's true, hopefully your thrifts are within close distance so you can go frequently, that's really how you find stuff.   Like I mentioned in the other post, my Sal Army's had 50% off everything yesterday & I only picked up a few things.

One good strategy is to shop off season.  They actually do have some really nice sweaters & other colder season clothes now that are not as picked over.  It is hard to get motivated in the summer to looks through sweaters & jackets but it really is the best time and around here they are marked cheaper than when in season too.
