Howdy Tongue
I've been thrift store shopping my whole life.  It was kind of a forced thing since I grew up in a lower-income family in Silicon Valley.  I hated being the kid at the nice school with used clothes, but we had to make by with what we had.  Then, when I was 13, two pairs of Calvin Klein jeans crossed my path at a Livermore GoodWill and it was love at first sight!  They were mid-rise bell bottoms that fit like a dream.  I wore those pants until they fell apart and then turned them into purses.  I still have them!

I also love to create things.  I crochet, knit, macrame, and paint.  Hence the name...It amazes me what I can find to supply my habits at thrift stores.

I've been (sic) Thrift Store shopping my whole life.

I can identify with you. When we were children Momma lived on Welfare and Daddy had another huge family which he chose over us  . . . as in no child support. In the '50s there were different colors every year. We never had that. We got a box at the beginning of the school year and with two sisters my same size, it was a mad dash for anything to wear.

Momma taught us a valuable lesson. My sisters and I are deft TS'ers now. With styles more relaxed I find more than I 'should' take home. LOL!

A good rummage sale is tons of fun and I know where all the Thrift Shps are in my area and also the ones in the neighboring city.

Welcome! There's always room for one more TS Friend.
