I was born in CT, but have lived almost my entire life in the south.  I deal in vintage telephones, but what I have is probably out of your ideal price range, but my phones are 100% restored, and come with a 1 year warranty.

Jay, I had no idea you sold restored telephones... do you have a website? I'm willing to pay a fair price for something restored as long as its a style that I find aesthetically pleasing. Maybe you have just the thing!

Hi, I just came across this post. I live in New Hartford, CT. What have you done with your plans to open a thrift store?

Absolutely nothing because I ran up against a few "barriers" which I am still working on.  This goal will be met in 2009!  Please check back and thanks for asking!

Hi Joyantionette,

I was born & raised in Hartford, CT and now live in Ohio.

How is your Thrift Store coming along?

Hey, I'm from Anchorage Ak, haven't been on the site much lately, well, I have but it's been "lurking". I still enjoy reading everyone's stories! And it's fun to see where people live! SeSo, good to see you again, I got out of touch with you!
Oh, today I got off the bus near my place & there was a yard sale right there so of course I wandered in. The things I collect most are books, & I had just recently discovered a poet that I thought I might like to read more of, Elizabeth Bishop, & the lady who had the yard sale had a beautiful trade paperback book of complete poems by her in new condition for .50. I was so happy....Love it when that happens!

Hi,
I'm a newbie from Winchester in NW Ct. Love thrift shops and tag sales. I am a vintage card designer, so I am on the hunt for goodies to use on  my cards. I would love some input about the best places to shoppe. Most of what I look for are vintage photos, lace, buttons, jewlery, even if broken etc. You can email me at arlinepozzo@yahoo.com with info.
Thanks

I don't know the thrifts in your area, but I would love to see your card designs.  I do a little scrapbooking/altered art paper crafting.  I look for those things you listed also, they are harder to find at thrifts and yard sales.  Flea markets are a good source sometimes and can be cheap too.
