I find that in Missouri the best places to find good thrift stores with amazing finds are out in the country or just hard to find places.  Most everything in these types of thrift stores are from leftover garage sales, estate sales, or when people pass away.  If you are planning a thrifting trip and you're going to be travelling through Missouri just watch the roads and if you get adventurous you should ask some people in small diners or such.

Since many things in Missouri are already much cheaper than what you would find in, say Florida or California, some of the antique shops, that are more abundant, sometimes have great deals on vintage jewelry or other items and sometimes it's overpriced.  It's really hit and miss.  But I wouldn't rule out the antique stores if I were traveling through.

I'm glad to hear you say that about Florida! Though if one is persistent and has good timing, bargains might still be had, Florida can be pricey and have lots of junk. I've heard the midwest can be a treasure trove--may your thrifing experiences be ever-abundant!

Although, here in Missouri I've noticed that since more and more resale and upscale resale shops are opening every day, less and less of the "higher end" stuff goes to the thrifts now.....
