Baltimore

The Mission Thrift Store
Value Village
Which AMVET is good?

Fredrick

Venus On the Half Shell
Refuge Mission Store
Select Seconds
The Way Station Thrift Store

Gaithersburg

Chic to Chic

I am not from around here, so I don't even know which places are safe
and which I have to be careful (came from small town here) or if there are better
ones to visit.  Pretty much anywhere in a 2 hour radius of DC I tend to have to
travel, so knowing where thrift is when I am in the area would be nice for quality clothing, costume jewelry, and pottery/glass.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Here's some to consider.

Herndon, Va:

The Closet
The Bargain Loft

Manassas, Va:

Goodwill
Community Thrift

There are others, but these are some good locations where they usually have a good selection and fair prices.

I recommend the Value Village on York road in Baltimore.  They need to expand the housewares section (it's busting at the seams).  The rest of the store is well organized and relatively clean.
