I have traveled extensively and still find the best stores are right here in my back yard!

There are several Value Villages but I find them to be way over priced on most things. You really need to search there to find good deals.

There are Salvation army's around the state as well. It's a good place to find vintage items but again can be a bit over priced.
Juneau's salvation army is the best priced Sallys in the state. Don't waste your time on the Kenai/soldotna Sallys. They are ridiculously high priced...they tend to be VERY full of merchandise becausenthe pricing is so high.

My all time favorite theft store in Alaska is the one in Kenai but can't remember the name. It's huge! Prices are great! Got Cutco knives still in the box for $10 and the retail for $190.

Another great store is Bishops Attic in Palmer! Great prices!
Happy Shopping!

That is great that you have nice local thrift stores, so many people have become unhappy with the thifts in their area.  Nice score on the knives!
