can't wait to get out and thrift!

so.. when you get a tshirt that you really like, what do you make out of it?

it's pretty crafty right now to redesign t shirts. my daughter just made me a shopping bag out of one because the color of the cotton was so beautiful (teal blue) and it had some nice stitching on it.. too nice to throw away. so, you sew a seam along the bottom, then cut the sleeves off so that it looks like a tank top (or start with a tank top). cut the shoulder seams apart and then put front to front and back to back seams. you will see that the front is lower, so even out the curves and you have two shopping handles. easy! can't remember where i got the website on this idea - probably some link on of you posted. sorry for not giving credit if it is due.

Very cool idea!  Now I know what to do with some old t-shirts I have.  Thanks for the inspiration.

My daughter has made those out of her favorite ts that have pretty much died.  I think Martha Stewart posted the instructions on her web site.  You could try there if you need directions.

Awesome! Much cooler and less pretentious than the " I'm a recycled shopping bag" shopping bags that they sell at the grocery stores. Plus you can make them to match your car and outfits!

My duahgter made some using some of her old rock concert ts.  Although it is a bit disconcerting to have her walk into a room with that gigantic Rolling Stones tongue sticking out at you from her bag.
