Suitcase Table

Okay, this didn''t work out too well because I didn''t really know what I was doing, but I think it looks cool.  What it is a vintage suitcase that I tried to add table legs to (I''d seen something kind of similar elsewhere).  Why it didn''t work too well is that it''s kind of wobbly.  Right now it''s in storage, but someday I''m going to try to make it more stable.

I have also seen suitcases made into ottomans and a desk.  I think I saw these at www.hgtv.com.  You can often find ideas for turning things from thriftstores into other things there.[/img]

I suspect the legs aren't level if it wobbles, thats what match books are for.....  

If you put folding legs on it, you don't even have to unpack when you get
the inlaws.  Just unfold the legs and open the suitcase.

Well, actually each individual leg is not secure (the legs shouldn't move and they do) and that's why it wobbles. My entire method of construction (which I won't go into) is a complete mess and just can't possibly make a stable table, which I now know but didn't then.

Maybe if you put a piece of plywood inside the suitcase and attach the legs through it, it would be more stable.  Or even a wooden "washer" about 2 or 3 inches square would be better than just attaching the legs through the suitcase itself.  Jaie
