This is a very small bedroom in my new house that I've turned into my dressing room.  I thrifted the dresser, frames, hat boxes and the other little items I bought at the dollar store.  All this only cost about $30 including the desk (not shown) that I use for a vanity table (chair was free!).  And, of course, the closet is full of my thrift finds.  (hope this photo works I've never tried this before).

I am very impressed with your work!  I love the elegant color combo, very classic and classy. It looks French to me, maybe 19th century...what "look" were you going for, if any. Also would love to see the desk you use as a vanity. I think that is an incredible idea, and now you've got me thinking, girl... SeSo

Thank you!  What I had in mind was kind of shabby chic/paris apartment, emphasized with the framed black and white postcard of the Eiffel Tower and parisian scenes on the hat boxes.  Here's the desk and a close up of some of the accessories.

So I did totally get it!  Yowza, but you're good.  Love the pictureless frames on black. Tres chic!  Is the dressing table mirror vintage or thrifted and will you be adding to the desk in any way (stenciling, etc.)?

Cute room and very creative!  It is so fun to be able to decorate for cheap and yet still have it look great.

Welcome to this site, by the way!

Seso, the mirror is better than thrifted; it came from my parents house circa 1975 and used to have two matching sconces that held candles (i think) but was taken from my parents house by my sister 15 years ago and has survived several moves with my sister and then recently stolen by me.  I think I might paint it black to stand out more.  I have actually taken off the top of the desk and screwed hinges to the back so that the tops flips up for easy access to the drawer but closes to hide all the mess.  I have some pink paint and I plan to paint the inside of the drawer but maybe a black damask pattern stenciled on the top might be nice?  Thanks for the idea!

Hey Ladies! Glad to see y'all online on a Saturday night.   Red, you have GOT it goin' on for sure!  I love that the mirror has such historical significance for you  Smiley Is it metal?  'cause I'm thinking that a black metal "Paris apartment" mirror would be "bon bon pour vous" Wink

What y'all did with the desk just delights me. I love your ingenuity. (I was wondering where you put all your girly-girl stuff; my tiny-weeny little area looks like a train wreck most of the time  Cry) Are you very handy with tools?

Hopefully tomorrow I will take some pics and post 'em. Have been doing stuff around the house for the past two weeks.

I have lots of wonderful finds, but I have no clue how to put them all together.
