The best reference to thrift stores on television was a whole documentary on the subject that aired on PBS a few years ago- Second-hand Stories.  They still have a website www.secondhandstories.com.  I think they wanted to make it into a series as they asked people to write in after to support the show.  I never saw another one- too bad as it was awesome.  If it is available on dvd I would highly recommend watching it.

It's not a about thrifting, per se, but the best show that somewhat involves thrifting is Bargain Hunt with David Dickinson on BBC America.  Nothing else even comes close.

Big Daddy, I'm with you!  I even try to schedule appointments and errands around the time the show is on in my time zone, lol. 

Do you know if any new ones are being filmed?  The ones I see are all marked with 2001 as the film date.

Off to find things as "cheap as chips"!--SeSo

Yesterday I found clips of my favorite game show as a child, Shenanigans.
I would enjoy seeing more of this PBS special.

I should have known to look on youtube!  Probably the rest of it is up there somewhere too.  I will have to check it out later- thanks for reminding me about this show- very entertaining!
