According to a documentery (British) about Andy Warhol currently being shown on the Ovation channel, Andy Warhol had a Sunday routine.

Every Sunday morning, he would go to church, the local RC church in his NY neighborhood. Then, he would go to the Chelsea Flea market (one of the best flea markets in the country) and look around, for hours. According to a friend and fellow artist, interviewed for this doc (whose names escapes me), Andy would walk around and around and look at everything--every thing

He would touch items and examine them. His friend, who was with Andy on many of these Sundays, explained that Andy used the flea market because (and I love this!!!) it's where he would get inspiration! Andy would see things in those items that spoke to him and this would aid in his creativity.  His friend explained that Andy saw somthing entirely different in those used items than others did or do, which he could transmute into his art.

Also, Andy apparently would buy stuff that he hoped would appreciate in value, you know the "buy low/Sell High" rule.  His friend said he bought junk, lol.

Warhol also had a collection of over 100 cookie jars, several of which were shown. He had started collecting them many years before he died. His collection was pristine and amazing, especially if you love pottery and/or cookie jars.  The president of Movado was interviewed in this doc and wanted to buy the collection, but I believed he was outbid during an auction of Warhol's stuff.

Just some thrift trivia for y'all. You see, we are all artists here Shocked Shocked
