The 69th Ladies Board Rummage Sale will be Friday, October 19 and Saturday, October 20, 2007 at Morven Park International Equestrian Center . Sale hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m.to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

This annual event is a tradition regarded by many as "the biggest treasure hunt and bargain shopping extravaganza in Loudoun County." You'll see why as you browse over 35,000 square feet of trinkets and treasures - all indoors. Shop for furniture, antiques, clothing for the entire family, designer labels, household items, décor and holiday pieces, small electrical appliances, tools, shoes, jewelry, books, lamps, toys and games, sporting and exercise equipment, collectibles and boutique items. Enjoy BBQ beef, cold drinks and more from the Snack Bar. ADMISSION IS FREE!

You may also bid on many fine items at the one-day-only Silent Auction held on Friday, October 19th. Bidding closes at 3:00 on Friday. Last year's auction grossed nearly $13,000.

Business and community leaders are strong supporters of the Rummage Sale. The Ladies Board is grateful for this support, as well as the support of the entire community -- those who donate, volunteer, and shop.

The sale requires months of planning and hundreds of volunteers. To volunteer or make a donation, call 703-771-2985 but please review first the items that cannot be donated. Volunteers will meet you to open storage trailers located throughout the community.

Last year's sale grossed a record-breaking $120,000 with all profits going to Ladies Board projects such as nursing scholarships, patient care needs, and fulfillment of the Ladies Board's $1,000,000 building campaign pledge to Inova Loudoun Hospital.

SEE YOU AT THE RUMMAGE SALE!

This sale is HUGE, and everything is priced to move quickly.  They always need volunteers for this event, the setup is monday through thursday.  If you volunteer you can pre-shop the sale on Thursday afternoon.  I always leave this sale with a pretty full truck and I never spend more than $30.  If you volunteer you can choose your area of expertise to work in.  Last year I volunteered in Housewares & electronics, Susan volunteered in Kitchenware, and my roommate Jon volunteered in Toys.  You really get to go through the entire department and you can find all sorts of treasures.

I'd love to see some other volunteers wearing ThriftShopper.com T-Shirts there!
