In the film Pieces of April (April = Katie Holmes), the main character is attempting to host Thanksgiving dinner for her estranged family. Everything in her apartment looks thrifted or handed-down. In an attempt to look good and impress the family her boyfriend makes a point to purchase a suit or sport coat. Where does he shop? At a thrift store, of course!
