Don''t they go to a shop in that movie? The film provides so much eye candy for vintage lovers, like Steve Buschemi''s character''s apartment, and the girls'' clothes.

Hip to be square.

The other night we rented "Ghost World". I guess it has some cool vintage stuff in it, but the movie was sooooooooooooo bad and we fast forwarded so much the film was over in 10 minutes. I love SB, but the two female actresses in it were just pathetic as characters and they each did NO resaerch for the roll.

When making a movie where the person in the movie is supposes to be wearing glasses, PUT LENSES IN THE FRAMES! even if they have zero prescription.

I'm a big fan of Ghostworld the film, but if you really want a treat
search out Eightball the adult comic book or shell out for the anthologies
of Daniel Clowes art.  For lovers of the quirky details of everyday life and the eccentricity that lives in us all ...

So, yes I agree that the humor of Ghost World is dry, and the plot is slow, but I think you missed out on something interesting by fast forwarding. And about the glassses, I think that is just part of her character, to wear them with no lenses. I know I wore non-prescription glasses in high school becasue I thought they looked cool, as did many of my friends.  It's not one of my favorite movies, but I didn't think it was THAT bad.

I like Steve Buschemi.  He is brilliant, and an actor that has an ability to "suck me in" to a film.  It's actually quite dangerous.  I'll be flipping through TV stations, and one of his films will come on, and I'm then stuck for a few hours.

Never saw Ghost World, though.  I'll have to check it out.

That is all.

I Worship Steve Buscemi. He was superlative in "The Sopranos".   Saw "Ghost World" about 8 billion times (at least) and adored him in it.  I wish that movie had been around when I was a teenager--I completely identify with the Enid character and her obsession with thrifted kitsch and--ahem--those "outside" the norm. All we had to identify with in my gen was Cheryl Tiegs {{{sigh}}} which was fine, if you looked like Cheryl Tiegs.

Steve Buschemi is going to be on an upcoming episode of that NBC show where they trace the geneology of famous people.  I have watched that show in the past and it is very good.  Any Steve Buschemi fan will want to check it out.
