This Madonna movie
Desperately Seeking Susan features a scene which I believe takes place in a thrift store (it might be a consignment store or other store that carries seconhand merchandise though). Susan (played by Madonna) goes into this store and swaps her funky jacket for a pair of boots and after she leaves the bored housewife named Roberta envious of Susan''s more carefree life buy''s the jacket...and trouble ensues. Susan''s outfits (typical of Madonna in the 80s) have a sexy, eclectic look to them that almost certainly feature many thrift store finds.
