I clicked on this link hoping to find a plethora of information about thrift  shopping in Texas and was shocked to see the section blank. Come on ladies and gentlemen, Texas is full of thrift shops, especially in our area outside of Houston.

Share where the best thrift stores are in your area.  This fall I'm going to be in Livingston Texas and plan on heading down to the Houston area.  It's a long drive but I hope it will be worth it.  There are only a few thrift stores in Livingston and a few up in Lufkin that I've been to.

Which side of Houston do you shop on?

In Dallas, I've found a lot of quality stuff at Goodwill. There are several locations in the metroplex, and they always have sales. I've found a few things at the Salvation Army on Inwood, but their prices are higher. At the Genesis Women's Shelter thrift store on Lemmon ave., I found some nice sweaters from the Gap and Ann Taylor. Haven't seen anything at the St. Vincent Thrift store, but it has a nice view of Bachman Lake from the parking lot. The Garland Road Thrift Store tends to have some nice things as well.
