I go thrifting at least once a week, and that''s on a slow week, LOL. Some of my favorite places to find treasures are of course the local thrift stores, but I''m also a huge fan of estate, church, and garage/rummage sales.

A few of my co-workers are also huge fans of the thrift, and so every week we tend to make plans for thursday or friday lunch hours (sometimes both!) to visit a sale of some sort. I thought I''d share some resources that I use to locate the sales.

Estatesales.net is a fantastic website, many of the local estate sale companies list their upcoming sales here, sometimes with preview pictures! You can sign up for weekly update emails to remind you of the available sales that week.

http://detroit.craigslist.org/gms/ is a great place to check for rummage and garage sales, and some of the estate sales companies will list there as well.

I subscribe online to the http://grossepointenews.com/ and find some great sales in the Pointes and surrounding areas there.

If I''m looking to find something sale-wise in Oakland County, I check http://hometownlife.com/legacy/classifieds/index.html classifieds.

Between these, regular trips to Sally''s, Vinnies, Value World, Sunshine Thrift, and Community Thrift, and the "HEY LOOK! A GARAGE SALE SIGN" quick turns off of the road, there''s something to keep me happily thrifting away any day of the week.

Hope this is helpful to anyone in the area. If you have questions, please ask! Or other suggestions or recommendations, please share them! Smiley Thanks!
