Earlier this week Cookie and I went to one of our favorite thrifts, VNA Hidden Treasures. It's a VNA Hospice thrift that's probably the nicest in town.
I walked to the back and I saw a pale green ornate French Provincial bedroom set that just screamed "COOKIE". Right after I noticed it, I saw Cookie maneuvering the stroller over to more closely inspect it. As we both got closer we spied the "SOLD" signs all over the set.
Never in the history of furniture building has a bedroom set been more made for one person.
The set arrived the week before and they wanted $1100 for it. It was a 1952 Pennsylvania furniture creation that was still in pretty good shape.
They had sold it a few days before we got there for $800 cash.
The manager of the shop, Theresa, is pretty great and we're going to ask her to pass on our contact info to the lady that bought it in case she ever gets tired of it.

On the winning side, we went to a Goodwill next door and got a great baby's room lamp.

A couple days later we found another lamp by the same company in the local Humane Society thrift.

Cookie would love to have a collection of those lamps in the baby's room.

We won, we lost.

Those lamps are so cute, I had the Jack & Jill one in my room when I was little.

A whole suite of great furniture is a real find, maybe luck will be with you the next time, in any case those lamps are pretty great!

I agree VTS, they are great. We saw a mobile by that company in a thrift in Orlando a few years ago. They make great stuff.

I do feel fortunate. I found a whole set of that cream color with gold bands children's furniture. I always wanted that when I was a little girl. We were poor enough, I was lucky when I had a bed to share with several others. I'm looking for a new sectional and asked my son if he would take me tomorrow to the shop where I discovered that set.

It's called Divine Consign and it's in the heart of downtown in America's Vancouver. Part of the sales price goes to the charity chosen by the donor. It's a very cool place to shop for furniture.

We don't have any good furniture thrifts around here which is too bad because I would like to replace a few things in the living room.  Make sure to post a pic if you find something good!

I don't know if I had the mobile, when I was a baby my mobile fell down & one of the wood dowels got stuck under my eyelid!  I had to go to the emergency room to have it removed, no damage luckily.  Are those lamps you got the vintage ones or does someone make repros of them now?  They look like they are in fabulous condition.  Vintage mobile should not be hung over cribs though, they were dangerous even back when I was a baby!

I love the lamps! They remind me of Christmas ornaments we had when I was little.

They are indeed the originals.
If I were to grade the condition. I'd say they were each an 8.5 out of 10, being perfect.
But we like them.
