I'm always looking for a ukelele! Hmm also 50's kitchen pieces (particularly pitchers, tins, and bowls) 1950's dresses and prairie Gunne Sax dresses.

This action figure my sister and I used to play with when we were little. It was a woman about 4" tall with eagle wings and when you pressed a button on her back they would shoot up Smiley It was probably made in the late 80's- early 90's. I can't even find it online so I doubt I'll ever find it.  Cry

I've never found a good piece of bakelite at a thrift. I also look for old vintage jewelry (1920s old) and have only found one necklace in 20+ years of thrifting. Never found a beaded purse either. The thrift stores around here are a good source of contemporary clothing but the vintage has really dried up.  Cry

old magazines.  None of the thrifts that I visit sell magazines.  I like to look at the old advertisements and read old articles from the past.  I've seen magazines at thrifts on youtube, so I know there are thrifts out there that sell them.

My fave thrift shop sells magazines for .25 each. I was thrilled because most of them were old issues of National Geographic, which I love. It is neat to look at the old advertisments, especially for vehicles and electronics.

I always look for Hello Kitty and other Sanrio items, but I've only been successful once.

I'm always on the look out for a vintage bird toy from the 70's.
It was a round plastic bird with a long beak, wings that stuck straight out from the side and a smile on it's face. It hung from the ceiling by a spring.  When you tugged on the spring the bird would gently bob up and down.  I remember that you could get them in bright colors of yellow, red or blue.  I found one at a vintage toy store online but it was too expensive.  I did find out the name of the toy - The Executive Bird.

I would just die of happiness if I ever found a Sam Cooke vinyl record. Usually the vinyl record piles are so plentiful and dusty that I avoid looking through them. It's a very arduous task so I've sort of given up. Hopefully one day I will come across it! I haven't given up hope just yet.

Oh my, so many things. I'm always looking for vintage handbags like the lucite ones or Enid Collins. Also vintage fabric from the 50s, the atomic space age kind.  Vintage shoes from the 40s. Flecked vintage clothing.........

A shower chair/shower assist for elderly or handicapped people or other adaptive equipment. My mom works in rehabilitative therapy and a lot of her patients can't afford this stuff new. The only thing I find is walkers - lots and lots of walkers.

Someone mentioned magazines. I've only come across one so far that I remember had a specific magazine rack. They were 10¢ each. A lot of stores put magazines in with the books, I've noticed.

I bet Hospice and Hospital Auxiliary thrift stores would have that stuff.

Our local Goodwill always  seems to have that kind of stuff too, at least a few anyway.

I actually did find a shower chair in an independent store recently. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough. I'm not familiar with Hospital Auxiliary stores.
