There are thrifting videos on YouTube?
That will kill another few hours for me I am sure!

You know what is really frustrating....

Last spring I was looking for a chenille bedspread...I searched for 3 months at 6 different thrift stores...nothing.  I finally resigned myself to get one on eBay, I paid way too much for it...
a week goes by and...
lo and behold!  I found (not exaggerating) a couple dozen at all the different stores.

This has happened to me SOOO many times!
GAH!

Big "E" LEVI Jeans
Chanel clothing
Starburst Mirrors or clocks

But those are pretty high priced items. Not impossible though! My sister found a Chanel  blazer at a TS once. It was stained yet she tried to sell it on eBay anyway. Stated it was stained and all and it sold for almost $200 !

Yes they sure are. My nephew found some once. They were in poor shape but he still got a few hundred for them. I still look!

Good vintage fabric, which didn't used to be so scarce but now is.  Nice mid-century arm chair with good cushions ( i have seen a few with nice frames but spent cushions not worth recovering)  Great vintage clothing.

I've never found any All Clad either, or any of the other high end cookware.  I have found some copper saucepans though.  Paid about $3 each for them.  A lot better than the stores.
Jeannie

This is my first post here - I decided to come out of lurking mode for this one.

I bought almost a whole set of Amway Queen ss cookware for less than $20.00 - I almost choked when I looked it up and discovered that it originally sold for over $1,000!  Shocked

I'm always looking for a 12" Griswold or WagnerWare cast iron skillet. I've got several of the smaller sizes, but I'd like a large one too.

I'm also looking for a decent sofa. The cushions are usually broken down and squishy and I need something with good firm cushions. (Bad back.) I found a sofa sleeper at Sallie's that was perfect, but they wanted $300.00 for it!  Angry

Well, I usually dig threw the toys, but i do like pictures and buy a lot of photography and prints and frames.

I collect..and have the hardest time finding these two items..

schleich and Godzilla items.

I did find some vintage toys, like vintage ET, land before time, pound puppies, found a 1970's garfield figure the other day and some other random vintage stuff.

It's my stress reliever, I recently started volunteering at Goodwill so I can work with the toys and get first dips muhaha. lol...found some cool stuff that way.

Also found a working perfect speak n spell. paid a dollar for it..

I'm looking for history books and biographies for my hubby.  World Wars, Civil War, War of 1812, etc.
I collect Alice In Wonderland books and have a hard time finding new and different ones.
I also look for marbles for my dad's collection, but I've never found any of those at a thrift shop.

Cast Iron is rare to find to begin with- then when I do see it in the thrifts it is unknown made in china stuff that is overpriced- I look at it and think I could go to Ollies and buy it new for the same price.

I am on the hunt for a cast iron dutch oven myself

I look for Schleich animals too.  My kids love them.  I often find them in bags of mixed toys or bins of smaller toys.  They are usually around a dime here.
