For me, it is hard enough to remember all the things I am looking for.  So I can only imagine how ineffective I'd be looking for tons of other random stuff.

The only way it would work for someone that can't remember stuff like I do is a feature that allows you to also print all the "requests" out (with or without a photo).  Then I could just have that in my purse and refer to it as needed.

You'd really have to fire up the old RAS (reticular activation system) and overload it with data (with regards to everyone's current wants).

It will work, but after a while, you'll go insane looking for so much stuff (Lamps for Good Buddy, Scarves for this one and that one, Pyrex for Jay, etc.).

Freecycle works, but anything of value is almost always gone within 10 seconds after posting - we wound up "unsubscribing" from Freecycle after a while.

It would work much better on a smaller scale.

FWIW, I like this idea, but this it's more like paperback swap to me.

I guess we could start a "wishlist" sort of section where we could post what we're looking for, limiting it to, say, 4 or 5 items, so as not to overwhelm.

Again, FWIW.

Agree w/ Big Audio Daddy. Would like the Wantlist on this site if that worked.

I think she meant just giving stuff away that she did not want or making it up for grabs on the site for mere postage.

Sounds like a great idea, unfortunately being in the UK means the postage would be too high ever to make it practical, but I like the theory!
