Right, I know the homepage shows the latest uploaded picture. But if more than one has been added, it doesn't show anything when you go to the gallery. (I am trying to think of how to best explain what I mean, and confusing myself in the process lol) Like when you go to the forum, if there is a new post in a certain section the icon will be a different color. Something like that for the different sections of the photo gallery. I'm not even sure if you can do that, just an idea.

Soon we'll be able to do all kinds of things inside the forum.
The idea about having something within the forum to show folks new images is a GREAT idea.
Like maybe a fetch on the forum pages that shows the latest 3 pics posted. I like it and I will do it..

I'm still not sure I am explaining my idea right...although that is a really cool idea too...I meant within the photo gallery, like when you go to the gallery, the different sections (men's clothing, knick knacks, etc.) will show whether there are new pictures in that section.

I know what you mean.  It currently doesn's show what or when a new picture was posted.  You have to actually click and look to see what has been posted and when it was posted.

It would be nice to see when the last picture was posted just like we can see when the latest was posted on the forum topic sections.

Another cool thing would be when we post pictures in the forum they'd carry over to the picture section.

That is a great idea, Dianne!

Also, GB, and I think BDA might have mentioned this already..how about music being played on this site, as we email and search the site...thrift store music!  We could each make a copy or send you a copy of our favorite thrift-store music finds (Zed, for example, could probably provide you with every rendition of "Nadia's Theme" Wink Wink, Zed) and it could be playing as we roam the site. BDA's choice of music mentioned on another thread (Johnny Cash, Elvis, Ramones) sounded great to me...and then, taking it further, you could make a soundtrack of "Music to Thrift By" and it would be a big international hit on the INternet and you would make a million dollars and you and Cookie could retire to some remote tropical island and live the life of the rich and open the first tropical thrift store....forgive me, but I digress.

Just playing the music here would be great!

I wouldn't notice if there was music, I never have my sound turned on unless I turn it on to see and hear a video.  I hate having the sound on and every time I get mail or make a boo boo it will make noise at me.  So off it goes unless I say give me sound.

I agree with you. I MUST want to hear it, or I don't.

I think a radio station (listening-optional, of course! Smiley Smiley) on this site, made up of music thrifted by and contributed  by the people who make up this site is a great idea, for those of us who would want to listen...Listening, of course, would be optional
!
Thanks for pointing that out ChrisMiss!

Some of us might even want to host an hour (I don't know if that's technically possible, but it's a thought)

That's a good idea, instead of NPR it would be NTR, National Thrifting Radio.  Thrift stores could get it for a small monthly fee.  All songs could be thrift related.  I wonder how many thrift related songs there are?

After shopping today and encountering a closed store it dawned on me that we need to make it easier to report a closed store.  How about a link that says "Report this store closed." under each listing.  Once you click on it the system should already notify the site administrator (GB) about the store.  If it is easier to make a closed report the database would be more up to date.  One of the required fields in the report a closed store form is phone number, which I can't get if they are closed...

OOooo, Good one, Jay!

I've got one from the archieves:  "Baby Don't Go" by Sonny and Cher:

"I never had no money
I bought at the secondhand store
The way this whole town laughs at me
I just can't take it no more

Babe, I can't stay
I'm gonna be a lady someday

(Chorus)
Baby, don't go
Pretty baby, Please don't go
I love you so
Pretty Baby, please don't go"

So far so good indeed... i love the sight, and wish i coudl participate more often...

but i did like the idea of maybe organizing a "swap" like we talked about in another thread... i know it may be complicated to organize, but i think it would be fun!
