"I thought $0.59 was a very fair price, but then I saw the line. Out of 4 counters they only had 1 lane open, and there were about 15-20 people in line. "
This is from another thread but I am sooo jealous!! 4 counters?? All the thrift stores we've got around here and basically the largest are the 2 Salvation Army stores, and 1 Goodwill store in each town close by, only have 1 counter with 2 registers. We must have very small stores compared to other towns.
Yep, that was my attitude. The line wasn't worth the wait. That Goodwill in question is probably about 3,500 to 4,000 square feet, and has 4 registers, but you're lucky if they have 2 lanes open. Every afternoon when everyone gets off of work that place gets crowded because its right across the street from a mostly blue collar neighborhood.
We do have some really big thrifts here, like Unique thrift in Fairfax. That place is the size of a small Wal-Mart and has about 20 registers. For the most part though, most thrifts here are under 2,000 square feet and you are lucky if they have 2 registers.
