So I went to the Salvation Army yesterday to do my usual thrift shopping. My salvation army has a pretty big book section, which of course I looked through. Found an assortment of books, bought them and took them home.
I was going over my purchases and realized that I had bought a book that isn't even in bookstores yet. An advanced reading copy!! The book is called "The Film Club: A Memoir" by David Gilmour...it's going to be in bookstores on May 6th,2008 in hardcover (mine's in paperback). So it's also a first edition.

Not sure why, but this made me very delighted. I almost always see multiple copies of Bridget Jone's Diary and things like that, so you really have to look to find the good books.
Maybe in 100 years it will be worth something.....? I only paid a dollar.
Have any of you come across unexpected surprises in thrift stores?
