this weekend, wearing my recently bought Ralph Lauren Jeans (from another thrift store)for the first time, and noticing something crunchy in the small coin pocket of the jeans.  After doing some digging I pulled out a freshly washed twenty dollar bill. Ahhh what a feeling!

The same thing happened to me once!  Those jeans paid for themselves, and then some!

wow...good for you!
I bought a rumtopf <sp> this weekend for my son who is an excellent cook..the lady told me the best story, her husband had past away 6 years ago..he had done all the cooking, but he always told her never throw anything away..you never know what you might find, so as she was cleaning out her kitchen cabinets she came across the rumtopf, took the lid off and found 5900 bucks! So she says its my good luck cooker....first the I did when I got to the car was took the lid off..lol..no money...but a girl can always hope! Maybe it will bring my son good luck with his chef dreams

It's so cool when that happens. Just recently my sister bought a book at a TS and a $50 bill fell out of it.  With her and her husband both out of work, that was a whole lotta money.  Ya just never know.  So neat.

I think a lot of it has to do with depression era mentality, and not trusting banks.  I remember cleaning out my great aunt's house.  There were places that we knew she used to hide stuff, but what of the places we didn't know about?  We tried to check everything we could, but we only had one weekend to clean out the house and did not have the time to thumb through every book, jacket pocket, and obscure location in the house.  I'm relatively certain that some shopper at the Wilkes-Barre SA hit the jackpot after we donated a lot of clothes and household items there, but we just didn't have the time to thoroughly go over everything.

No drop ceiling, but my father knew about a secret compartment in the desk, and that my great uncle used to hide cash in the insulation in the attic by the access hatch.  We looked as best as we cold in those areas, and others but we didn't find much.
