Cookie and I just spent a little time in Thriftko, a HUGE thrift near us that we frequent.
I was up at the register asking for a screwdriver to check an item out more thoroughly and I heard a sad story..

There was a nice family who flew in town to go to Disney and have fun this week. Their 13 year old daughter is getting used to carrying a purse. She set it down and it was snatched!
The manager and myself and a few employees joined the search to no avail.
The young lady did find her bag, sans the money.
Who would take a beautiful young girl's purse and then steal the money?
She found it underneath a rack of clothes and she was just in tears.
It was very sad, and a hard lesson to learn.

It's not that thrifts are not safe places, there's jerks everywhere.
We thrifters need to look out for each other.
If I would have seen the guy doing the deed, I'd have ran up front and had the manager lock the door then I'd call the cops.
He'd be in the back of a Casselberry Police car right now with the free set of matching bracelets and he'd be having Kool-Aid and an egg sandwich for breakfast.

How sad for that little girl!  Now she and her family may have bad feelings about thrifting and about Florida in general.  What a  mean occurance  on a vacation, no less!

Mean, mean thrifter!!! Bad Karma!

That is too sad.  It's a hard lesson to learn for the girl.  Hopefully she didn't have too much money in her purse.  It's everywhere you go, there is always someone looking to steal from others.
