The "Mr Clean Magic Eraser Sponge" or no name knock-off eraser sponges take marker off of hard surfaces, they work wonders on all kinds of marks or stains that regular sponges can't remove- you don't even need any cleaning product just wet the sponge!  I always have one around.

Thanx valleythriftshopper for the tip of mr. cleans erasers sponges working on permanant marker, I will try those next time, this is a big peeve of mine...uuugh!
