How does one "insert an image" into the body of a message, as opposed to attaching one at the end?  I like they way KitschiCat's posts look - all integrated and design-worthy and stuff.

I see the icon, but all it does for me is throw up the {img}{/img} and I don't know what to do from there.  Am I an idiot, or just a ludite?

I didn't know where to post this, so I just picked an area.

Thanks for any help.

That is all.

Ok, here goes...how to do it with the forum coding.
Above the 2nd and 3rd smiley when you post a topic or response there's a picture icon. When you scroll over it, it'll read "Insert Image". When you click on the icon, it'll place some forum coding into the body of your post. {img}{/img}
Then cut and paste the location of the image on the internet. The below type of code, Photobucket let's you host pics for free and supplies you with the direct link code. I use it when i post pics in the body of posts.
http://www.thethriftshopper.com/images/logo/tts.com_logo_lrg.gif

When you place the direct link in between the image icons, it shows the image.

{img}http://www.thethriftshopper.com/images/logo/tts.com_logo_lrg.gif{/img}

All those icons up near the top of the posting window do many different tricks. I've not used them all yet.

I hope this helps..

Yup, like GoodBuddy already pointed out, you just insert the URL for the image in between those img tags. That's a kind of "shortcut" coding that is used on many discussion board systems.

If you were on a board that took straight HTML the '<img src=" ">' tag would work too. I'm not sure if you are on LiveJournal, but as a for instance, when I post my images there I use the img src tag Smiley
