I have noticed a ton of these lately in thrifts, never really noticed them before. I see them for funeral homes, amusement parks etc. I bought my first one today ( I couldnt stand it anymore..ha) its for the 1964-1965 New York World's Fair. It is about 3 1/2" X 4 1/2"
has pictures of the Astral Fountain, Lunar Fountain and the Pool of Industry. It was a bargain at .39 I will NOT start collecting glass plates, I will NOT start collecting glass plates......

I pick up interesting vintage local souvenir items, mostly Mohawk Trail memorabilia, if I see something cheap at a thrift or yard sale.  I have a little collection that includes a blue transfer plate, souvenir binoculars, toy horse set, postcards & penants.  They are not really worth anything but fun to display.  I would love to see Nancydr2's wall of state plates, I bet that is impressive.

Good luck hunting if you decide to start a new collection.  I would just follow the Kovel's advise- buy what you like!

Square plates?  I have some souvenir plates and I see them all the time in thrifts, but they're not square.  Gotta start looking for these...
