Hi all,

I picked up a 1970s Planet of the Apes comic book last week. When it comes to vintage comics and magazine I tend to enjoy the ads more than the actual publication material. This one had many of the ads we used to see as kids.

One offer to master self defense reads in the middle,"By playing this record over and over the lessons become buried deep in your subconsious. Your mind is conditioned in the ancient Oriental disipline of Kung Fu & Karate..."  I kid you not. The rest of it is also very amusing.

Another ad says, "Steve's South Bay Sporting Goods, the largest skateboard outlet in the known world, is now offering..."  I wonder what what they meant by that?

Growing up in Toronto I was always frustrated that the offers were only open to residents of the US. In any case, did any of you ever order something from a comic book? Some Sea Monkeys perhaps?
