Hi Guys - Sorry about the absence.  I was pretty much laid up all last week (kidney stone) with the accompanying trip to the ER last Wednesday morning at 3:00 am.

At least I was able to recover while reading a book about which we are all passionate.

Second Hand by Michael Zadoorian was mentioned here a while back, and I put it on my wife's paperbackswap.com wish list.  It finally showed up there, and shortly thereafter showed up in our mailbox.  It's a good read, if a little light.  I really liked the fact that this character would go out thrifting everyday in an effort to find the right goods.  I could take or leave the human drama aspects of it.  Lucky for me that there was enough about actual estate sales, garage sales, and thrift shops in there to keep my attention.  For a typical reading public, I'd give it a 3 stars out of 5; however, for you guys, I'll rate it a 4.5 out of 5.

Michael - I haven't forgotten about what I was going to send.  I'm putting it here so I'll have to hold myself to it.

I have a lot of posts to read, so I better get to it.

See you next time
bye for now.

I sure hope you're feeling better, BDA. Glad you were at least able to do a bit of vicarious fictional thrifting while recovering.
