Stopped off at the 2 local Salvation Army stores today
and discovered that as of 9/1 they are not accepting
payment by checks anymore.   Embarrassed  You can pay cash, debit
or credit card.  Not sure if this is for just our local area or
all the stores are going to start doing this.

The thirfts in this area, including Sal Army, never took checks, for as long as I have been going to them.  The food bank thrift only takes cash, but they don't charge tax and have the best stuff so I don't find it annoying.
