I like this (chain) resale shop because I find some things that I wear even though it caters to a 20 something crowd. However I also feel that they are overpriced. We have 4 locations here in Houston, Texas area.  I was looking at jeans the other night and most pairs were priced 20.00 or more.  At that price I could be shopping retail sales. There are other resale and thrift stores that I hit and find jeans there from $4-10 a pair. Usually, CK, Gap, Eddie Bauer, etc.  But unless I am buying brand new, I can't see myself paying 20 or more for second hand jeans.

Any comments?

$20 can get you new Levi's at Marshall's, TJ Maxx, Ross, or the outlet mall.  I would not pay that for used jeans.

I agree.  $20 can get you brand new Levis around here.  Why pay that at a thrift or resale shop?  My DH buys jeasn at the local thirft and even one with the tags still attached are $5 or less.

That's a bit steep for used jeans. A few months ago I paid $5.00 for a nice pair of Levi's that were in excellent condition from my Goodwill store in Central Florida.

i think it all depends on what the used jeans in question retail for. $20 for used Levi's is borderline-absurd, but $20 for jeans that retail for upwards of $200 (i.e. j brands) isn't all that unreasonable.

then again, maybe i'm just a label whore Tongue i also thrift in nyc where everything's overpriced, resale not excluded. what does secondhand high end denim cost elsewhere? am i getting totally ripped off?

My local thrift has has those Ed Hardy jeans, you know the ones that are heavily embrodiered, for $25-35.  I know they are pricy retail.
