I thought since it's been so slow here, I'd stimulate conversation and your taste buds (well, probably only conversation... Smiley ) by sharing a link to some recently thrifted vintage cookbooks. My favorite in these showcases fresh artichokes-turned-candlestick holders.

I wish I were kidding. Smiley

i don't know which is the worst = the impaled artichokes, or the delectable plate of brussel sprouts. (that's a visual oxymoron if you ask me...) Tongue

Note the gelatinous mold in the background, which is a to-scale replica of Sweden's famous ice hotel...

Or possibly the end scene in Ghostbusters after Mr. Stay-Puft exploded over that art deco apartment building.

Well, ice hotel or achitecture coated in nuked Fluff , it's an elegant way to showcase your culinary talents and distract your guests from the pot o' cheesy fishy bed-rolls before them.

Mmmm, another Fluff reference...  You are making it hard to stay on my "NO HFCS" diet.

Kraut and Frankfurter Tahitian??!!!  Undecided

And, yes, there is something vaguely sexual about the impaled artichokes, I have to say...slightly disturbing. (Or I probably just have an active imagination.)

Keep 'em coming, TSR. You keep this up and I won't need that weight loss surgery!
