Okay,  I know this doesn't really involve thrifting.....but I just have to show someone!  I know there are some mid century modern fans in this group, and I have finally finished my first MCM Gingerbread house.  Granted, this is my first attempt.  My frosting skills are fledgling, and I'm hoping I get better with practice.  This is the general idea....

Merry Christmas!

Moonie, you rock for all eternity!  It is just awesome! Are we having martinis while listening to Esquivel for Christmas?

You should start a business!

That's terrific!   Reminds me of my favorite tin dollhouse I had as a kid - the one where the roof comes off and it's a 60s style ranch.....

Thanks you guys!  I have just finished cramming a string of lights up through a hole I made in the bottom.  Now the lights are on. Smiley

That is divine!  It begs for a gingerbread Heywood-Wakefield dining set.

Oh gosh, it's cute. And it's hilarious being able to look at it and absolutely KNOW what garage door that's supposed to be.

That looks just like my FIL's house... maybe you could cram it full of Wonder Bread?

It's so funny that you said Eichler.  That's exactly the design I was shooting for!  Success!

Wow, I love this house! You are so talented!

To segue this to a thrift, I got a gingerbread cake house mold at the thrift. Just was interesting. You pour the cake batter in the pan and bake.  then I guess you are supposed to be able to take the mold apart so you can get your house out, complete with windows, doors and chimney.  I'm a bit skeptical about this though!
