Mid-century arts and crafts from visionary post-WWII designers including, but not limited to furniture and artwork.

Handbags

Scarves

Jewelry

Bicycles

Records

Artbooks

Vintage cookbooks

Vintage clothes (made in the USA!!!!)

Vintage aprons and linens by post WWII visionary artists (like Vera!)

I've gotten all this stuff and am currently using it all. What a trip!

Funny you mentioned bowling balls... being a card-carrying sanctioned bowler myself (don't laugh!) i take the purchase of a bowling ball quite seriously  Grin
i once found a GREAT bowling ball (as in i recognized the "make/model" of the ball) and got a great deal...

the ball could have easily sold at a pro shop for AT LEAST 80-100 dollars... i got it for FIVE!!!

Hi Eddie!

How ya doin'?

Congrats on the great bowling finds!  Good Buddy had a question a few weeks ago about what to do with bowling pins. One suggestion was to make a lamp, another (mine) was to make a low-to-the-floor "atomic Zen" table using the bowling pins as table legs. Any ideas?

Back to the original lists: My two biggies are guest-bed sheets and solid-color T-shirts/tank tops. I can't say I never buy other items elsewhere (and I sometimes buy T-shirts in "real" stores).

I could probably get all my glassware at thrift shops. Certainly most of my shoes, scarves, books, pots and pans, and games/puzzles.

While there are some things you never have to buy new, there are also things that you can't buy new:

8-track tapes
8-track tape players
rotary telephones
14.4 or 28.8 modems
(heck - exterior modems in general)

Heck, even stereo cassette players would probably take some hunting to find.  Try finding a new VCR in a regular store and VHS tapes have been pretty much be completely squeezed out by DVDs (which themselves may be phased out by HD-DVDs or Blu-Ray discs).  They are getting more difficult to find.

That is all.
