It sometimes pays to ask

I bought a great bed at a thrift store in Tempa AZ at least 7 years ago. Needless to say it died a slow, and very painful to our backs death. We were fortunate enough to get a free queen sized bed on Freecycle. Unfortunalty it to had been sleapt in to death and our back suffered even further.
Today at The Orlando Rescue Mission Bargain Barn, we found a king sized Serta Easy Clean for $140. Not a cheap thrift find, but our posture is suffering so that we need to make a better move..Currnetly we didn't have the disposable funds to pay for the bed. I get a paycheck tomorrow, I asked Tyrone, the manager, if he'd hold it until then. He said he would, our backs thank him.
While thrifting it does pay to ask sometimes, even for a discounted price. I want to get an ice crusher and we saw one later at a thirft store and it had a date that it was tested 11 months ago. I could have asked for a discounted price, but the manager of this particular store is not nice at all when it comes to things like that. I've gotten very negative responses from her in the past.
When frequenting thrifts the more the emplyees volunteers and managers that you get to know the better off at getting special requests granted.
