_That Might Be Useful: Exploring America's Secondhand Culture by Naton Leslie. I found this at my local library. Knowledge is power (grin) I found this informative. Leslie goes to auctions, estate sales, talks with dealers and pickers, antique store owners, ebay sellers throughout the country, recounts his own experiences.

See if your library will do an inter-library loan for the book. Frankly, if it hadn't been at the library, I wouldn't have purchased it. Well, maybe for a quarter.

Try the inter-library loan thing. Free is free.
