One More Thing, y'all:
For those who didn't read it, here is my post from "Games Gone Wild" which seems to be more appropriate here:
>>PS: And yes, Good Buddy, everybody here on the coast is a DEALER. Everybody sells on eBay. There's a "collectibles" store every three feet. It's been like this for years and years. The dealers have "pickers", people whose sole task in life is to hit thrift stores and garage sales and "pick" the best stuff off, and then resell it to the dealers at a profit. They are also known is some circles as "vultures" or "turkey buzzards", akin to circling dying road kill and then being the first to pick the warm flesh off the bones of the freshly dead (hence the name "picker".) If a garage sale starts at 7 AM, they'll be there at 6. They storm troop rummage sales and woe! unto you if you get in their way. They are trained to spot shiny objects and just what you've been searching for for years from a distance of a hundred yards or more.
Another board member wrote about this experience at library book sales.
What can I say? We're a poorer county with a lot of retirees and folk trying to supplement their incomes. The prices at the thrifts have risen in proportion. Things that could be had for a few bucks are now "collectibles" and are over-priced.
I saw a Nine West damaged handbag at a thrift yesterday going for $8 and yet at the same thrift, my undetected Marimekko print panel went for $1 last week.>>

You see, we are all part of the same hypocrisy
