Ok, we're remembering the memorable jingles for all sorts of products. If you wrote a commercial for your favorite ts, what would the key lines be??

Our St. Vincents does a spot where one line is for crafters, "We have a large craft section. Why not take something old and make something new?" (I keep trying this with DH, but it's not working!)

Looking for that toy you never got as a child?  Have you searched high and low in audio for those 8-track tapes?  Can’t find those VHS movies any longer?  Need the perfect costume for Halloween but don’t want to spend a lot of money?  Well come to blankety blank blanks thrift store and you may find what you’ve been looking for.

"Why bid when you can buy right here and right now?
Forget those online auctions.  Chances are, they got the crap they're selling you here anyway!"

Somewhat cynical, sure, but I think our target audience would appreciate the candor.

see you next time

I'd try to do some celebrity tie-ins. Film Ben Affleck and Matt Damon doing some Goodwill hunting, maybe, and discovering a Mork doll, only to have Robin Willliams pop out of nowhere? Or have a Forrest Gump-type (who knows, maybe even Tom Hanks himself as Forrest) saying that a Salvation Army store is like a box of chocolates...you never know what you're going to get.

I'll have to work on scripts, I guess.

I love your ideas, Zed! Building on them, wouldn't it be cool to have thecelebs talk about "how green it is" to shop at your local thrift?  Many people need permission to do something, and this might be one way to say it's OK to thrift!

Ciao!

You could show Ed Begley, Jr. thrifting underwear and used toilet paper.

See you next time

I thought it was extremely funny.  He can even scrutinize the underwear.  Is that a faint skidmark, or is it just the flourescent lights Huh

It certainly was a good fit, and a humorous one at that. And disturbing. Very disturbing.

My commercial would say, "Stay away!  Don't shop here!"

I guess I'd like to keep the competition at a minimum.  Why advertise a good thing?

So you're taking the "CartmanLand" approach to thrift stores?
