I used to give feedback as soon as I shipped the item.  Then buyers started playing games - mainly using feedback extortion schemes - and I stopped giving feedback until the buyer was happy.  I refused to be held hostage by some schmuck who wanted to get something for free ("I'll win the auction, but then used feedback blackmail to get a reduced price so I get over on everyone!") or to use my machine as a "parts source" for their broken item, then claiming that mine doesn't work as advertised.

That is what happened here, too!   Angry

In cases where that was a possibility I'd put one of those mylar tamper evident stickers over one of the screws on the back or bottom so I'd know if someone took it apart.  Initial it with a sharpie and nobody can open it w/o you knowing.  I'll have to ask dad to snag me some more of those before he retires at the end of the week...  Smiley

It happened once with a tuner.  I was sent out working fine, came back, and a few of the inner component parts were gone.  It wasn't damaged - it had been scavenged.  So after that, I put something in my ads that there were absolutely no returns.  I wasn't going to be played by another "switch and blamer" again.  Ultimately, I stopped selling on eBay for the most part, and those things that I did sell were well-received by the buyers; No complaints.

It just got to be too much of a hassle.  People would spend $5.00 on a vintage receiver, then complain that it wasn't perfect (when faults had been described in text and in the photos in the ad).  Who needs to deal with that kind of headache for that kind of money?

The stickers are a good idea, but not worth it at this point, as I'm pretty much done.

See you next time
bye for now.
