Years ago, there was an "out of the Closet" in Canoga Park.  I shopped there a few times when in the area on Biz, but I always had my best luck at the Goodwill in Northridge.

That is all.

Some weeks, I go 2-3 times a week, but always to different stores.  The thrifts I love are all within a 40 mile radius, so if I'm in a particular area, I try to hit the ones in that area.  It wouldn't be thrifty, mileage-wise to hit them more than once a week. And some weeks, I don't hit a lot of them at all, as they are not in my travels.

We are having a lot of harvest fairs and church rummage sales this time of year, which can usually take up a whole Saturday morning (they start early here.) I heard one volunteer at a church sale comment "We opened at 8 and there were about 100 people waiting to get in...they starting lining up at 7"---She was talking 7 AM! I ususally stumble in around 11...

I go to the thrifts two or three times a week, depending on how busy my schedule is. There are only 3 stores in my little town, so I'll hit most of them at the very least one or two times in any given week.

I try to go into several thrift stores (normally GW & SA) weekly if not twice a week.  Sometimes it depends on if I can get my husband fired up to go look as we ride to work and back home together.  Most of the smaller thrifts close at 5 and the GW and SA are the only ones open till 7 or 8.

I visit a Goodwill close to my office 2-3 times per week.  As a matter of fact, I'm headed there at lunchtime today =)

Oh right i can't believe i forgot about the one by the car wash.. i see it EVERY day....lol.
yeah that GW on vine is pretty gnarly...

you know i've always wanted to go to the council shop.. i see it often and always say i want to check it out... now i really should...

Yup, those are locations I was thinking of -- the Hollywood one is by the carwash.

I was at the Goodwill on Vine when the LA area GWs had their 3 day all clothes $3 each sale.  Horrible air conditioning at that store but I did well.

I usually go to the GW on La Brea south of Wilshire,  parking is tight though.

If I go to the Out of Closet on Fairfax then I also go to the Jewish Federation Council shop just north of them on Fairfax.  Usually not as good as the Jewish Fed shop south on Fairfax just below Olympic.

Have you been to that one?  It looks like it used to be a small diner --- they still have the 1950s high counter the cook would put the order on for the waitress to pick up.

Good Buddy and I go once a week, every Saturday unless something comes up to stop us, and sometimes once during the week when we have time.  I know Saturday is the worst day to shop because everyone else is out there and it's crowded, but that's when we have the whole day together.  If I go thrifting alone, GB will whine, "You went thrifting without me?!" like I'm cheating on him.  But he goes alone all the time since he passes a thrift store on his way to work.  I need to start going alone during the week to find more work clothes.  GB gets impatient waiting for me to try things on and I don't like feeling rushed.  But I also get bored after about an hour of clothes shopping.  That's my upper limit and then I'm ready to get out of there.

Eddie - I found this one at the Goodwill on Vine about 3.5 years ago - $20.00.  I used it for about 1.5 years, and then eBay'd it for a buy-it-now of 170 + shipping.  Helped pay for a trip to Disneyland.

Gnarly, yes, but I like it, too.  <--- said with an Irish Brogue.

That is all.

I don't get to go too often. Maybe every other week. But now that I've been on this website, I'm getting the itch to go more often. I'm hoping to stop in at one today. Now that garage sale season is pretty much over, I'll probably go more often. During the summer, I went to garage sales every thurs, fri, and sat. I'm going to miss that over the winter.
